Services

Cost, programme, asset and structural support.

Five provisions make up our core offer. Quantity surveying is our primary service and runs through the whole project lifecycle, from first appraisal to completion. Each commission is scoped in writing before work starts, so you know what is included, who is responsible and when each deliverable is due.

Quantity surveying is our primary service

S-01

Primary service

Quantity surveying

Cost and commercial advice across the whole project lifecycle, aligned to the RICS Plan of Work. This is our primary service and the discipline the practice was built around.

We can act for the client, for the contractor, or as an independent third party. We do not act for both sides on the same project.

Typically includes

  • Early appraisals, order-of-cost estimates and budget setting
  • Cost plans and elemental cost advice at each design stage
  • Tender-stage cost advice and analysis of returns
  • Cost reporting through construction, with change control
  • Commercial advice for clients, contractors and lenders
  • Whole-life and cost-in-use comparisons for options studies

S-02

Strategy and business review

A structured review of the practices, procedures and commercial controls inside a construction business, aimed at efficiency and stability rather than growth for its own sake.

Suitable for contractors, specialist contractors and consultancies that want an outside view before they commit to change.

Typically includes

  • Review of current processes, procedures and reporting
  • Commercial controls, margins and cost recovery
  • Organisational and resourcing structure
  • Risk register and business continuity considerations
  • Findings and prioritised recommendations in writing
  • Support with implementation where it is wanted

S-03

Project management

Day-to-day management of a project on your behalf: programme, cost, quality and the flow of information between everyone involved.

We work equally well as the named project manager or as additional capacity inside an existing team.

Typically includes

  • Programme development and milestone control
  • Coordination of consultants, contractors and suppliers
  • Progress, cost and risk reporting to a single point of contact
  • Meeting discipline, actions and decision tracking
  • Change control and its commercial consequences
  • Completion and handover coordination

S-04

Asset management and building surveying

Building surveying support for owners, landlords, estate agents and maintenance companies who need to understand what they hold and what it will cost to keep it.

Reports are written to be acted on by whoever holds the asset, not just filed.

Typically includes

  • Condition surveys and asset registers
  • Planned maintenance and lifecycle cost planning
  • Refurbishment, extension and conversion feasibility
  • Advice on remedial priorities and budget sequencing
  • Asset information prepared for sale, purchase or valuation
  • Ongoing support for maintenance and property teams

S-05

Structural design and technical support

Structural technician services with a reinforced concrete specialism, covering both prefabricated and in-situ work, alongside steelwork and below-ground structures.

CAD-based detailing with the survey data plotted digitally, so the design and the existing site information sit on the same drawing.

Typically includes

  • Substructure and foundation design
  • Ground-bearing and suspended slabs
  • Wet wells and below-ground structures
  • Steelwork design and detailing
  • Layout plans, sections and detailed sketches
  • Surveying design overlays and digital plotting of survey data

[ 02 / Engagement ]

How the work is set up.

Every commission is scoped in writing before it starts. Scope, deliverables, programme and fee are agreed first, then reviewed as the project moves.

D-01

Commission

A defined piece of work with agreed deliverables, a programme and a fee. Most enquiries start here.

D-02

Secondment

One of our people embedded in your team for a period, working to your reporting lines and standards.

D-03

Independent advice

A second opinion on options, costs or an approach, before you commit either way.
